“My timing belt is due for service, but it can wait”. “I bought this car because my friend says they’ll run forever”. “Mechanics only recommend changing parts to make money”. Ever heard these types of comments?
They should have read: ” I enjoy walking” or “I wanted to spend extra money on repairing my car”.

Heads Up Motorsports is your Upstate VW, Audi and BMW repair center. Here are just a couple of the jobs that are in the shop today:
Alfredo brought us his 1998 Audi A6 for repair. The timing belt had broken and several of the valves are bent. Off with the heads!

Here is the bottom of the cylinder heads. Notice that the valves on the center cylinder are not seated, causing the engine to run poorly.

Matthew brought his 1999 VW Passat in for repair. After his car lost power, he had us tow the car in. We’ve been able to diagnose the problem as a faulty throttle control valve, and we’ll have him back on the road tomorrow!

When Steva’s BMW needs service, she brings it to Heads Up! She understands that quality cars require quality parts and service, so she opts for the best shop available. We use either OEM supplied parts, or the best quality aftermarket parts on all of the cars that we work with. This time, Steva’s car was in need of a simple oil and filter change, and our complimentary vehicle inspection.

Can we fix it? Yes we can.
Moriah brought us her 1971 VW Beetle. Her car was running poorly, and in bad need of repair. We’ve installed a new carburetor, repaired the wiring to the voltage regulator, and now the car is in tip-top running condition.

Peggy brought us her VW Passat GLX 4Motion. Peggy had noticed several small “puddles” of oil on her driveway, and wanted to have those taken care of. We’ve diagnosed the issue as a faulty transmission electrical connector seal, which is a quick and simple repair. We’ll have Peggy back on the road in no time.


Chris’ BMW M3 is in the shop today. He’s brought the car in for several small issues, including a “clunk” in the rear end. We’ll be installing a set of solid rear differential bushings, for a more sporty feel.

When Ray and his friend were on their way from New York to Savanna, GA, a service light appeared on the dash of Ray’s newly purchased BMW X3. Ray’s not that familiar with cars, and was concerned that his car may be in need of repair, or worse, could leave them stranded in the middle of the night. Ray called our shop 5:50 PM, and even though we normally close at 6, asked him to swing by, and that we’d be happy to stay open to get him back on the road ASAP.

Ray arrived shortly after 6 PM, and met with our service advisor, and 3 of our dedicated technicians who had volunteered to stay after hours to make sure our customers were cared for. After a quick inspection and a diagnostic scan, it was determined that the light Ray was concerned with was simply the oil life indicator, and his car was only in need of an oil change.

The moral to this story? It’s a common stigma in the automotive industry; a distressed driver on the side of the road over pays for common repair service, or is charged for services that weren’t needed. This isn’t the way that things are done at Heads Up. Ray was thrilled to find that he was not in for a huge repair bill, and the Heads Up Team was delighted that we were able to have another satisfied, yet distant customer!
