Heads Up Automotive is the leading service center in upstate South Carolina for BMW, VW, Audi and Mercedes automobiles.  Here’s a few shots of the shop today and what we’ve got going on!

Dean had his 2001 BMW 740i towed from the dealership to have us repair an issue with his ABS module. We’ve sourced a new ABS module for Dean, installed and coded it. He’s back on the road, and happy with the money he’s saved with Heads Up!

We’ve got a full shop! Here’s Patrick’s 2012 Mercedes C350 in for a Service B.  Ann also brought in her 2009 Mini Cooper for a “skipping” and hesitation issue that we’ve repaired. We’re also taking care of the carbon buildup issue that these direct injection engines are prone to.

Sanyam’s BMW 330i is in the shop for a list of repairs, along with Barry’s E92 M#

Tom brought us his VW Beetle for a new timing belt and water pump. Late model VW cars are equipped with a water pump that features a plastic impeller.  Over several years of service, the plastic cracks, breaks away, and the car begins to overheat.  These water pumps can be replaced with a much more durable unit, built with a metal impeller.

Cora brought us her 2001 Audi A4 for a new set of brakes on all four corners.

When the transmission on Kendrick’s 2004 BMW 740i began to slip, he brought it to us.  We’re replacing the valve body.  The valve body on these units also serves as the transmission control unit, so it also has to be programmed to the car.  Programming is a service usually reserved for the dealer, but Heads Up is equipped with the tools to complete any coding or programming needs that your BMW has!

Brakes squeal?  Swing by for a free brake inspection!  We stock and use Textar brake components!

Terry brought us his MG for a few repairs and a tune up for the spring season!

Heads Up Motorsports is your home for European auto repair!  Here’s a sample of what we’re doing this week:

Brian brought us his BMW 645i after the iDrive stopped working.  We’ve noticed that water is leaking past the convertible top, and has caused some damage to the cars electrical system.  We’re making several repairs to this BMW, and should have him ready to go in a few short days.

Tina’s BMW X3 is in the shop for an A/C Repair.  After being quoted a huge price for repairs at the dealership, shes brought her car to Heads Up Motorsports for the same quality repair at a fraction of the cost.

To access the A/C evaporator core, the entire dash assembly is removed from the car.

Jim’s Jaguar XK8 is in the shop for new brakes all the way around.

Issac brought us his Audi A4 for repair.  The car left him stranded, and he had us tow it in.

Jerry’s 530i is in the shop for a new window regulator.

Heads Up Motorsports is the ONLY shop in the Upstate with the dealer level diagnostic equipment to properly diagnose problems with your car.  Let us fix it right the first time!

Heads Up specializes in European cars, but is very capable of servicing your domestic or Asian Import.  We use only the best parts, and you can rest assured that your car is getting only the best quality repair!

Antrell’s Acura TSX in the shop for a starter motor.

Shana’s Mitsubishi Lancer arrived at our shop via AAA.  She’s WAY past due for her normal maintenance.  Her timing belt has broken, causing several bent valves.  We’re removing the cylinder head, and repairing the valves.  We’ll also be getting the rest of the maintenance issues taken care of so the Shana can drive her car worry free.

It’s a busy week at Heads Up!  Check out a few of the jobs in the shop!

Johnny just bought this beautiful BMW 328i for his daughter.  He’s had new brakes installed elsewhere, but isn’t happy with the braking performance and the noise from the brakes.  He’s brought it to Heads Up Motorsports, and we’re installing a new set of Textar brake pads and rotors.

Teniqua brought us her Audi TT for it’s scheduled maintenance.  She’s also has a check engine light on, so we’ll be making repairs to get that pesky light off.

When Dameon noticed a leak under his BMW 745il, it was straight to Heads Up Motorsports.  We’ve diagnosed the leak as a faulty water pump, and are installing a new one right away.

When Don’s heater stopped blowing hot, he brought the car by for a diagnosis.  We;re replacing the old heater core with a new unit, and will have his heat blowing hot again in no time.

Tina’s VW Passat is in the shop.  She’s been smelling a distinct (and very strong) oil smell.  We’re noticed that both of the valve covers are leaking onto the exhaust manifolds.  We’re replacing the valve cover gaskets, and cleaning the engine to remove the oily build up.

At the end of the day…. All cleaned up and ready to go home.

Do you work hard for your money?  Sure you do.  That’s why it’s so important that you can trust the shop that you use for your cars service and repairs.

At Heads Up Motorsports, we have the tools and software to properly diagnose your problem the first time, every time.  Accurate diagnostics save customers valuable time and money, and keeps their car on the road and out of the shop.

Check out Tony’s Audi RS4, in the shop for a few repairs.

Several times a week, we get a call asking if we only work on BMW, VW and Audi.  The answer is NO!  Heads Up Motorsports offers service and maintenance on all makes and models.  Sandy brought us her 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan for transmission repair.

When Jim’s BMW X5 screeched to a halt, he had it towed to us.

After a little diagnostic time, it was evident what had happened.  The driver side CV axle had sheared off into the front differential.  The pieces of metal inside of the differential housing caused some serious damage.  Nothing short of catastrophic.

Always a full shop, and always room for one more…..

BMW & Volkswagen Winter Maintenance and Repairs

January 29, 2013 by · Leave a Comment

Heads Up Motorsports has grown busier by the day. and the last few weeks has been no exception.  Check out a little of what we’ve been doing….

Anyone who follows our blog knows that Heads Up is the Upstates leaders in VW and Audi service and repair.  Peggy brought us her Passat for a few repairs, including replacement of the valve cover gaskets, a tune up, and a coolant flush.

When Davids 1995 BMW 525i started to run hot, he knew what to do.  He called the pros at Heads Up.  We sent our tow service to pick up the car.  Davids BMW is getting a new thermostat, and a few updates to the cooling system.  Winter is here, and cooling systems are more important than ever.

Jenny brought us her VW Jetta after she noticed that she’s been getting a lot of brake noise when stopping.  We’re replacing her pads and brake rotors.

Is your concrete driveway covered with stains from a leaking car?  Stop that right away.  When Tony saw transmission fluid on his freshly sealed driveway, he brought his car to us.  BMW transmissions are complex units that should only be serviced by those who understand what it takes to keep a BMW in tip top shape.  Don’t trust your BMW with just anyone.

If you follow our blog, you already know that Heads Up is the Upstate’s home for European Auto Repairs.  But what happens when repairs aren’t enough?  We’ve got you covered!

Barry brought us his 2011 BMW M3 for a little more.  He’s in love with this car, but decided that he’d like just a little more horsepower.  Who can have enough power anyways, right??

We’re installing an ESS Tuning Supercharger on Barry’s M3, along with a set of cat-delete pipes.

After unpacking the goodies from ESS, we got to work.

The OE intake manifold is removed for installation of the fuel injectors that are supplied with the ESS kit.  The intake is also replaced with  a fabricated aluminum manifold that’s included with the kit as well.  Note the individual throttle bodies.

The OE Fuel injectors are replaced with a higher flowing set from Bosch.  The white one is the new Bosch unit.

The front bumper was removed for installation of the cool air intake.

After installation, the new intake moves the air filter into the front bumper to pick up cool air.

The Supercharger head unit bolts into place, and retains all factory accesories.  The ESS kit uses a Vortech Blower.

Once the blower is in place, the new manifold, along with a bypass valve  is installed.  Barry had this one color matched to his car.

And finished…..
